Media Center Info

Our media center is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. for students and staff.  Units of instruction are individually planned with curriculum standards, students' needs, and staff plans in mind.  As the informational hub of the school, our media center strives to provide both students and staff with the most current materials needed for successful learning. The Media Center provides more than 20,000 books for both pleasure and academic reading, houses a 36 station computer lab, and utilizes videoconferencing for distance learning. Setting high and consistent expectations for our school's media program ensures successful student achievement, as well as an atmosphere that encourages reading as a lifelong pleasure.

Cite It To Win It

Cite It To Win It Contest

Each week, a different book, magazine article, or website will be featured on the FYI board just inside the Media Center doors. Simply take one of the scrap pieces of paper by the board, cite the source using the correct MLA format, and put it in the blue "Cite It to Win It" box. On Mondays, Mrs. Sauer draws a winner from the CORRECT citations entered and the winners' names are announced on Friday video announcements.  You will either win a copy of that week's book, or (in the case of magazines/websites) a chance to choose a book from the bins in Mrs. Sauer's office.

Questions?  You can ask your Language Arts teacher or Mrs. Sauer.
