Your Carmel Middle School 2015-2016 PTO Committee Chairs

Do you want to help out? Volunteers are always needed! It's a great way to help the school and make friends in the process. Feel free to contact any of the prople listed below if you'd like to volunteer or have questions, concerns, compliments, or suggestions.

2016-2017 Committee Chairs:

After School Study Hall-Amber Empie

Oversees the monthly scheduling and reimbursement for PTO-sponsored after-school study hall.

Bookstore-Maria Gottlieb

Ensures the CaMS Bookstore is staffed on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the year (during student lunches) so they can purchase needed school supplies.

Community Support-Tawnya Hornsby

Publicizes our yearlong fundraising program, Box Tops, collects and submits them for reimbursement.

Green Team-Open

Works with students, teachers and administrators to promote sustainable practices in our school.

Fall Fundraiser-Tara Ascioti

This is the PTO's biggest fundraiser of the year and helps fund many of our PTO activities. Many hands are welcome and needed in September and October. The chairmen coordinates and supervises all aspects of the brochure sale held in September. Organization begins in June with the the fundraiser kickoff held in September and the delivery of products in late October.

Media Center-Gwen Tucker

Coordinates and schedules volunteers to assist in the Media Center (library) throughout the school year.  Duties may include laminating, organizing, working on displays, "reading" shelves, and checking out materials for students and staff.

Membership/Volunteers-Stephanie Knickrehm

Promotes membership in the PTO, collects money for PTO dues, and compiles membership and volunteer information.

Newsletter-Beth Heck

Produces the PTO e-newsletter, the Cougar Chronicles, including collecting, compiling, and formatting articles and posting e-newsletter.

Pantry Packs-Ellen Gullett and Kristi Slane

Coordinates and schedules volunteers to assist with our Pantry Pack Program throughout the school year.  Duties may include helping with food donations, sorting inventory, and packing backpacks on Fridays.

Student Social-Lisa Lovell

This committee plans and chaperones the PTO Cougar Kick-off in August. This is held after school prior to the first home football game.

School Board Liaison-Melanie Brown and Jennifer Goodspeed

Attends School Board Meetings and provides an ongoing dialogue between the PTO and Carmel Clay School Board.

Staff Appreciation-Monica Cronin and Elizabeth Schallwig

Compiles goodie bags for the various support staff appreciation weeks throughout the school year per the district's calendar.

Staff Meeting Coordinator-Kezia Endsley    

Provides delicious treats for monthly staff meetings.

Teacher Luncheons-Barb Moroknek and Lety Clark

Hosts PTO luncheons for teaching staff. Serving, set-up and clean up help is always needed.
