AVID Announcements

AVID Interviews have been rescheduled.  Here is the most current information available:


Clay Middle School will interview on Thursday 1/16.  Individual times will be provided by Counselors at the Middle Schools. 

Carmel Middle School will interview on Friday 1/17.  Individual times will be provided by Counselors at the Middle Schools. 

The date for Creekside Middle School interviews will be provided as soon as it is available.


What is AVID?

AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination.  AVID is a rigorous college preparatory program for students in grades 9-12 who have a strong desire to improve their study and test-taking skills.  This program is for highly motivated, average students with high standardized test scores who are looking to improve their GPA and attend college.  AVID is a four year elective class at Carmel High School and students receive elective credits for each semester of the class.

The AVID program is looking for college students who would be interested in tutoring.  Days and times vary by week.  The pay is $10 per hour.  Training for the program will be offered onsite.  If you would be interested, please contact Brittany Wiseman at (317) 846-7721 ext. 7483 or by email at bwiseman@ccs.k12.in.us
