The AVID Application Process

The application process for current CHS students who want to join AVID is multi-step process: 1) Students are either recommended by a teacher, invited to apply for AVID, or has met with a CHS counselor and expressed interest in joining AVID. 2) Students that meet the academic requirements for AVID are invited to apply for the program on the written application. 3) Students fill out the application and submit them to their counselor. 4) Interviews are conducted throughout the year and entry into the program would be either at semester or beginning of the next school year. 6) Late applicants are interviewed and placed on a waiting list in March-May for placement should positions open up for the fall. Please contact Jamie Newcomer at jnewcome@ccs.k12.in.us with any questions.
