STANDARDIZED TESTING AND CCS

ISTEP+: ISTEP+ is the standardized test mandated by the State of Indiana for students in grades 3 through 8 in several subject areas. ISTEP+ testing occurs in the Spring and is given in two parts. The first part is given in early March each year and is composed of written-response questions. The second part occurs in late-April/early-May. This portion of ISTEP+ is composed of multiple-choice questions. Students in grades 3 through 8 are tested during both parts of ISTEP+ in these subjects:

Core40 ECA: The State of Indiana mandates a graduation requirement known as the Core40 End-of-Course-Assessment (ECA). Among the requirements students must fulfill to earn a diploma from Carmel High School, is that they must pass both the Algebra I and English 10 Core40 ECA’s, AND take the Biology I Core40 ECA. Core40 ECA’s must be taken by students when they are enrolled in each of these classes.

Other Important Testing: The Carmel Clay Schools believe that there are several tests that are vital to the success of our students. Click here to find out more. Once this site is found, click on “Testing Schedule” and pay particular attention to the “Purpose of Test” on the far right in the grid.
