The mission of the Clay Media Center is to create an environment in which all of our students are encouraged to become life-long learners and capable users of technology, information and ideas. Our aim is to help students become young adults who can access, evaluate, and interpret information by providing a well balanced and rich collection of print materials, databases, and digital books. Our media center fosters an environment that embraces reading for pleasure as well as for knowledge.
As the informational hub of the school, the media center provides teachers and students with up-to-date materials needed for successful learning. The Media Center is home to a multimedia computer lab and makes available a large array of media and distance education technologies. Those technologies, available to students and staff, expand instruction by providing extended online research experiences and publishing capabilities.
The library is open before and after school to assist students in achieving their goals. There is a full time media staff: a certified media specialist/librarian and full time media manager, and many highly valued parent volunteers.
