Meet Team Detectives' Teachers

Mrs. Liana Giles

Mrs. Giles is entering her 9th year as a 7th grade teacher. Her first year at Clay she got to “sample” both 6th and 8th grade by teaching 6th grade Honors and 8th grade Social Studies. She will continue teaching Social Studies and Language Arts for Team Detectives. Mrs. Giles comes from the Land of Lincoln and U of I basketball (“I-L-L-...). She earned her B.A. from Elmhurst College (while playing volleyball for the Bluejays) and M.A. from Loyola University in Chicago. Mrs. Giles became a Hoosier after marrying and moving to Indiana in August of 2005. She once was a Pretzel, a Bluejay, and a Jayhawk, but is charged up about being a Clay Trojan! 

Miss Rebecca Runyon

Miss Runyon is entering her fifth year of teaching at Clay Middle School (where she previously taught 6th grade Math, Science, and Language Arts). She will continue to teach Math and Science for Team Detectives. She grew up in Wheaton, Illinois with her parents, three younger brothers and dog, Tasha. She attended Taylor University, graduating with a degree in Elementary Education and endorsements in Middle School Math and Science. Miss Runyon is also the head 8th grade girls’ Basketball Coach at Clay. In her free time, Miss Runyon enjoys playing basketball, reading, photography, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
