Does your child like to explore why things happen and ask why or what if? Do they like science and find it interesting? If so, Science Fair may be a great experience for your child! Let your child put their scientific mind to the test and cultivate their curiosity through a Science Fair project. Science Fair participation is optional and a fun way to explore the unknown.
When: Thursday, February 8, 2018, 6:00 – 7:15 pm (Grades K-2)
Where: Cherry Tree Elementary School (CTE) Cafetorium
You can find additional information about the Science Fair in the Science Fair Informational Packet for Grades K-2.
2nd Graders – WANT A CHALLENGE?!? Have you done a collection or research project before and want a new challenge or just love to experiment? Students who are interested in following the scientific method may follow the guidelines for the science fair projects for Grades 3-5. If interested, select the FUTURE SCIENTIST option in your registration!! Participation is completely optional – but you just might be awarded the FUTURE SCIENTIST award!
Back again by popular demand! This year we will continue to use the 2-day format to minimize the idle time parents and students are at the Science Fair – see more information below!

We will offer a single mentoring session in January to assist students in preparing their displays and getting ready for their interview. More information will be emailed to registered students in January for instructions on sign up. This session is designed to:
• Learn what information needs to be presented on the poster
• Learn what judges look for in your poster presentation
• Learn what judges look for during your interviews
• Learn more the 2-day new format
IMPORTANT NOTE ON 2-DAY FORMAT: Please note, approximately 1-2 weeks prior to the Science Fair, participants will be asked to sign up for a 15 minute time slot for their project interview. Our goal is that most of these interviews would occur between 4 and 8 pm Wednesday, February 7th, with additional time slots available 4- 6 pm on Thursday, February 8th based on the number or projects and volunteer judge availability. It is very important that students are on-time for their project interview. If a student is late for their interview time, we cannot guarantee the availability of a second time slot for a project interview. If a student does not complete a project interview, they will NOT BE ELIGIBLE for a 1st to 3rd place trophy.
