Family/Consumer Science (FACS)

Family and Consumer Sciences at Carmel Clay Schools allows students to explore academic and career and technical education. Our courses provide students with opportunities to learn about child development, education, family relations, interpersonal relationships, consumer economics, personal finance, fashion design, management, hospitality, and nutrition. Essential preparation for all students includes acquisition of problem-solving, decision-making, higher order thinking, communication, literacy, and numerical skills in applied contexts. As the future members and leaders of tomorrow's workplace and communities, family and consumer science students learn to act responsibly and productively, synthesize knowledge from multiple sources, work cooperatively, and connect and apply their learning to the real world.
