Family/Consumer Science (FACS)

Family and Consumer Sciences Education focuses on families, work, and their interrelationships. The experiences provide students with knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors to become independent, to assume family roles, to contribute to the good of the community and society, to balance work and family, and to transfer personal skills to the workplace of the 21st century. In an applied context, students gain problem-solving, decision-making, higher order thinking, communication, literacy, and numerical skills to their careers, family, and the global society.
