MEALS

Breakfast will be offered to children who are in attendance before 8:00 a.m. Lunch is provided. Morning and afternoon snacks are provided.

PARENT CONFERENCES

Parent-Teacher conferences are held upon request. However, teachers are always available for on-going communication and parents are always welcome at anytime to observe our program. Daily reports are sent home regarding your child's progress.  Development reports are done 2-3 times per year.  The Edu-Care Center takes pride in providing experienced staff that you can trust.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

A health examination, including immunizations, is required for each child. You will be asked to provide a recent physical, less than three months old, or you will have 30 days from the time of enrollment to obtain a physical. For infants, a feeding schedule, signed by a parent, is required.

Health examinations shall be repeated annually for children three years of age and younger.

You will be notified and your child may be excluded if a health form is not returned within the required time.

CLASSROOMS

 

Pre-K

The pre-Kindergarten program develops readiness skills that will help children find success in elementary school. Students are engaged in a developmentally appropriate curriculum that is supported by the Foundations to the Indiana Standards and the Continuum of Literacy Learning. Children are provided opportunities to explore, manipulate, problem solve, and learn at their own rate through reading, writing, math, and phonemic awareness activities. Everyday Math is used to provide a realistic approach to problem solving everyday math situations. Students are engaged in frequent practice of basic skills through routines and games.   Students also use Handwriting Without Tears materials to practice correct letter formation consistently. The classroom provides all the necessary tools for children to learn to read, write, create, and explore. 

Older Three's

The three’s classroom is designed for students to learn through exploration. Our curriculum is provides students with hands-on experiences and actively engages them in their learning based on the Foundations to the Indiana Standards and the Continuum to Literacy Learning. Academic skills, such as print knowledge, phonemic awareness, number concepts, and basic concepts are mixed with music, art, drama and movement in our Literacy Express Curriculum. Students also use Handwriting Without Tears materials to practice correct letter formation consistently. Students begin their journey as future writers by learning to tell stories, draw their stories, and attempt to write their stories using Talking, Drawing, Writing.

Younger Three’s

The three’s classroom is designed for students to learn through exploration. Our curriculum is provides students with hands-on experiences and actively engages them in their learning based on the Foundations to the Indiana Standards and the Continuum to Literacy Learning. Academic skills, such as print knowledge, phonemic awareness, number concepts, and basic concepts are mixed with music, art, drama and movement. Students also use Handwriting Without Tears materials to practice correct letter formation consistently. Students begin their journey as future writers by learning to tell stories, draw their stories, and attempt to write their stories using Talking, Drawing, Writing. Children need to be potty trained in order to be placed in this class.

Two’s

At two, children’s learning is driven by their curiosity as well as their desire to become more independent. Students are given opportunities to develop their language as they begin learning about. Letters, numbers, colors and shapes. Students participate in many musical and sensory activities as they learn basic concepts. Throughout the year, children are encouraged to further develop their self-help skills such as potty training.

Toddlers

The toddlers learn through playing, observing and experimenting. They learn to make independent choices through their daily activities. Language development is an integral part of their year. Through musical and sensory activities, songs, conversations, and books, students develop their vocabulary. Students also learn many basic concepts as they are engaged in different activities throughout the day.

Infants

The infants are cared for in a loving, warm environment. The teachers strive to build a relationship with each infant that makes the child feel safe and secure. Sensory activities, age appropriate toys, music and other activities are provided to help encourage their development and stimulate their curiosity.

Programs

Our curriculum focuses on the child's individual skills and interests. We provide our children with learning centers that promote hands-on learning through play

Play is the primary way children learn. Through a variety of play activities, children use their natural curiosity to master skills, make decisions, accept responsibility and learn to love and trust.

ENROLLMENT

Entrance Requirements

  1. One parent or guardian must be an active employee of Carmel Clay Schools. (Legal documentation is required for guardianship.)
  2. Birth certificate.
  3. Completion of forms:
    - Application
    - Emergency Card
    - Health Examination
    - Medicine Form
    - Payroll Deduction Form
  4. Deposit of one week's tuition to be applied to the first week's attendance (non-refundable.)

How to Apply

* Early enrollment with non-refundable deposit insures holding a place for your child, once the center is assured they have a place for your child.
