The Facilities department is responsible for maintenance, custodial services, and facility improvement projects at the 15 school buildings and three support facilities that the Carmel Clay Schools currently has. In addition, Facilities coordinates all new construction for the district, working with architects, engineers, construction managers, and contractors to achieve the most cost effective solutions to facility needs.

The school corporation's 18 facilities comprise approximately 2,910,122 square feet of space situated on approximately 627 acres of land.

Custodial operations are conducted by a staff of custodians and supervisory staff. Each facilities' custodial operations are managed by a Head Custodian or Facility Services Manager. All elementary and middle schools have two shifts, and the high school has a three shift schedule.

Maintenance needs are addressed by a staff of maintenance technicians.   

The school corporation has an electronic work order system, SchoolDude. Work orders are submitted by staff at each school for scheduling and assignment by the Facilities office.
