Medical Benefits

Medical insurance is provided through Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield to those in an eligible class. The Anthem Website (network - Blue Access (PPO)) provides an extensive amount of information including participating providers. Anthem's website allows the insured to view claims, order ID cards, check status of mail order prescriptions, view preferred drug listings etc. Please contact the Benefits Department for information regarding plan eligibility.

Dental Benefits


(Benefits are the same for Administrators, Teachers, and Support Staff)

Dental insurance is provided by Delta Dental (Premier and Preferred Network). All necessary plan information can be found on Delta Dental's website, including benefits of the plan and amount of benefits paid year to date. Plan participants can also print ID cards and obtain claim forms.

Vision Benefits

Vision Insurance is provided by Vision Service Plan (VSP). All pertinent plan information can be obtained on VSP's website (www.vsp.com) by participants already enrolled.

Short Term Disability (STD)

Teachers - Short term disability is provided through UNUM at a cost to the employee of $1.00 per year. In general, STD will pay 60% of salary after a seven calendar day elimination period. In addition, teachers may also elect to supplement this benefit by using accrued paid leave time.

All Other Eligible Employees - Short term disability is provided through UNUM at a cost to the employee of $1.00 per year. In general, STD will pay 60% of salary after a fourteen calendar day elimination period. In addition, employees may also elect to supplement this benefit with one or two days of their accrued paid leave time per week.

Long Term Disability (LTD)

Long term disability is provided through UNUM at a cost to the employee of $1.00 per year. In general, LTD will pay 66 2/3% of salary until the employee is eligible for Medicare.

Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (ADD) Insurance

Teachers receive a $50,000 life insurance policy provided by UNUM. Administrators receive two times their salary and support staff $30,000 at a cost to the employee of $1.00 per year. In addition, each employee will have an equivalent amount of ADD policy provided.

Voluntary Life Insurance

Additional voluntary life insurance is also available through UNUM, for those employees who work a minimum of 17.5 hours per week regardless of eligibilty for other group benefits.  This benefit is also available for their spouses and dependent children.

Cancer and Accident and Insurance

Voluntary cancer and accident insurance is available and can be payroll deducted for AFLAC.

Section 125

Section 125, medical and dependent care reimbursement, is administered by AFLAC.  Enrollment occurs during October and November of each year for the following January through December plan year.
