School Resource Officers

 

  Officer Bodenhorn is a graduate of Tri-State University (1999) with a double major in Psychology/Criminal Justice.  While attending Tri-State University, she played on the Women’s basketball team.  She has a background working with as a therapist on a residential adolescent unit in Anderson, Indiana.  Her experiences include working with adolescents who had behavioral problems, mental health, and addiction issues.  She began her career in Law Enforcement in June of 2002 with the Anderson Indiana Police Department.  She transferred to the Carmel Police Department beginning in January of 2006 where she began her service as a road officer until June of 2009 when she applied for the School Resource Officer position at Creekside Middle School.  She is married to a firefighter and has two sons.   In her free time, she enjoys all sports, both playing and watching, but her favorite is basketball.

Officer Dewald has been with the Carmel Police Department for 4 years.  He has served with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department and the Marion County Sheriff’s Department for a total of 7 years as a reserve deputy.  He has been a D.A.R.E. officer for 3 years. He is a graduate of Noblesville High School. He is an Indianapolis Colts fan and enjoys watching the St. Louis Cardinals play.   He also loves to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle during the summer.

Officer D.J. Schoeff has worked for the Carmel Police Department for over 5 years and has been teaching the DARE program for 3 years. Officer Schoeff is a certified car seat technician and has served as President of the Carmel FOP. Officer Schoeff has an Associate Degree from Vincennes University and a Bachelors Degree from Calumet College of St. Joseph's in Law Enforcement Management. Officer Schoeff spent several years traveling the country teaching various companies how to use a computer aided design software prior to becoming a police officer.

phil_hobson  

Sergeant Phil Hobson has worked with the Carmel Police Department since 1994 in both the Patrol Division as well as the Criminal Investigations Division. He also serves as a Hostage Negotiator on the Carmel Police Department SWAT Team. In addition to these duties, he is an EVO (Emergency Vehicle Operations) Instructor where he assists in training basic recruits at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, and also trains Carmel Police Department members during EVO training each year. He is a graduate of Zionsville Community High School and Ball State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology. Detective Hobson has also worked with the Boone County Sheriff's Department as a Communications and a Corrections Officer.
