Biography

Dr. Nicholas D. Wahl is Superintendent of Schools for Carmel Clay Schools in Carmel, Indiana. Beginning his career in education as a middle school science teacher, Dr. Wahl has been working in public education for the past 30 years and this is his 15th year as a Superintendent. Prior to being appointed as Superintendent of Schools for Carmel Clay Schools, Dr. Wahl served as Superintendent of Hinsdale Township High School District 86 in Hinsdale, Illinois and Superintendent of Community Unit School District 201 in Westmont, Illinois. Dr. Wahl also has experience as an assistant superintendent, elementary building principal, and middle school athletic director.

Dr. Wahl has advanced Carmel Clay Schools in the district’s pursuit of a student-centered education model that meets the needs of the whole child. As Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Wahl also oversees operations of one of the largest employers in Hamilton County. In addition, Dr. Wahl co-hosts Off the Wahl, a radio/TV show on Carmel’s WHJE radio station and CHTV station.

Dr. Wahl graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science in Education, received his Masters in Educational Administration from Purdue University and his Doctoral degree from National Louis University in Chicago, IL.
