The Forest Dale Library Media Center serves students and staff with a collection of over 20,000 books, videos, DVDs, magazines, computer games, audio books, and equipment.
We are a school of readers! All students come to the media center at least once each week with their classes. Students in grades 3,4 and 5 receive their own library cards and may use the Self Checkout Station at their convenience.
The media center includes an instructional area with chairs and tables for whole class instruction, a reading corner for reading aloud, storytelling, or reader's theater, 2 island computer stations totaling 8 computers for student/staff access, and various table groupings for small group work. A variety of student projects and artwork is displayed throughout the year. A computer lab with 30 desktop computers is adjacent to the media center.
Whole class instruction in the media center is aligned with the curriculum for each grade level. In addition, we offer a variety of programs to support the media center goals.
