Hello! I have been the media specialist at Forest Dale since 2006. Prior to working in the library I was a special education teacher, earning a degree in Eugene OR before moving back home to Indiana. I LOVE books. I love to read. A goal of mine is to instill a love of reading and learning in students. Creating lifelong learners and the ability to evaluate information critically, and learning how to choose books/magazines/online materials that are interesting and stimulating are skills that will benefit students for life. Please explore all the media pages. You'll find information about our author visits, the Young Hoosier Book Award Program, Birthday Books, Databases and more.
I am eternally grateful for the assistance from our PTO. Through their generous financial assistance I am able to provide an author visit annually, and to purchase many copies of the YHBA books to provide incentives for students to read.
I am ALWAYS looking for volunteers in the media center. No experience is necessary. It takes a village of helpers to run an exceptional, smooth library. I want students to be happy, enjoy the library, be respectful of others, themselves, and property, AND to always have something to READ!
