Pumpkin Book Characters

It's October! Let's get creative!

It's time for our annual Pumpkin Book Character Museum in the MTE Library!  All students in grades K-5 are invited to participate.  The rules are simple:

  1. Pick a favorite book character.
  2. Decorate a pumpkin to look like that character.  You may use a real pumpkin or a craft pumpkin.  If it's real, the pumpkin may not be cut, punctured, or carved in any way.  You may use materials such as: paint, googly eyes, yarn, felt, feathers, construction paper, pipe cleaners, fabric, buttons, pompoms, wigs, props (glasses, jewelry, crowns, etc.)  Do not use any food items to decorate your pumpkin.
  3. Fold a piece of cardstock in half so that it stands up and write:
  • Your name
  • Your teacher's name
  • The name of the book character
  • The title of the book
  • The author of the book

Bring your pumpkin book character and written description to the MTE Library any time during the week of October 29, and we will display it for all to enjoy.

All pumpkin book characters will be sent home on Friday, November 2.
