As your student’s teacher for the next year, I want you to know a bit about me! I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University in 2006 and promptly moved to New York to explore a new environment before settling down in a career. While out east, I decided to pursue a Master’s degree in Elementary and Special Education and graduated from Touro College in New York City in 2010. I then moved back to Indianapolis and began working at a center for children with autism and focused on applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy. This focus prompted me to go back to school and receive 15 extra credit hours in the field of ABA through Florida Institute of Technology. I graduated from that program in June of 2012.
After working in the ABA center for upwards of four years, I wanted to pursue my original dream of teaching in a school-based setting, so I took a job with Indianapolis Public Schools and piloted a preschool program for children with autism. I loved this program, because it incorporated all of my schooling and experience. The program was very successful, but after making long commutes to and from work each day, I decided it was time to pursue options closer to home. This will be my first year with Carmel Clay Schools and I am completely thrilled to be here! I look forward to getting to know you and your families throughout the school year and working together in order to get your child ready for kindergarten and the future ahead of them!
