Evidence-Based Practice Training

Creekside is hosting the the 15-16 Carmel Clay Schools

Evidence-Based Practice Training 

This is half day training offered on November 10th and February 4th.

Please read session descriptions below and sign up to attend two sessions during your preferred half day training.

Training will include presentations from general education teachers, special education teachers and administrators. Information about how evidence based practices are used throughout the building will be discussed and time is provided for a building tour to observe strategies at use in both special education and general education classrooms.

We recommend that a team consist of “change agents” from both general education, special education and a building administrator.



2015-16 Training Break-Out Sessions

Visual Supports:

The value of visual supports to enhance student learning will be discussed. Participants will be able to collaborate on ideas to utilize the supports in both general education and special education classrooms.


Structured Environments:

The organization of student space will be investigated. Participants will be able to work together to plan structured environments to support student needs in various settings.


Social Skills & Video Modeling:

Session will highlight the value of teaching appropriate social interaction. Teaching strategies will be discussed, as well as, ways to incorporate video modeling into the instruction or support for students.


A Collaborative and Structured Approach to Individual Behavior Needs:

Presentation on tools that will assist teachers with collecting data as the foundational tool to find patterns in behaviors and target specific student needs. Learn how to process with students to find lagging skills in academics, executive functioning or social emotional functioning. Develop a structured plan for addressing student needs and teach students appropriate ways to process with challenging situations.



This session is for administrators who are searching for strategies to implement evidence based practices in their school. Participants will have the opportunity to talk with building administration regarding how implementation began at Creekside.
