Welcome to my website! I am very excited that you are interested in our learning adventure. My name is Amy Bannister and this will be my twelfth year of teaching. I graduated from Ball State University with degrees in Elementary Education and Environmental Design in 2005. I also received a Minor in Studio Art. Since then, I have finished my Masters of Education with a focus in Reading from Ball State. Go Cardinals!
I originally grew up in Albion, Indiana. I have one younger sister, Sara, and one younger brother, Steven. My parents, John and Sharon, are happily married and living on our fourth generation family farm in Albion. They are all a huge part of my life and inspire me daily!
My husband, Brad, and I were married five years ago. He is my best friend and the love of my life! Our summer has been very busy gardening, baking, and spending time with our dog. Elsie is our German Shepherd who loves to swim, run through the house, and go on walks to the creek. She keeps us busy and entertained! I can't imagine our lives without her.
I have several hobbies and interests. I am a glorified picture fanatic! I love taking photographs of nature and people. This summer we traveled to Yosemite National Park where we hiked and saw amazing waterfalls. When the weather permits, I enjoy taking walks and hiking on trails. I am a huge Mickey Mouse and Disney fan! I also decorate cakes and cookies, and love to try out any new recipes. This summer I opened a booth at the Westfield Farmer's Market where I sell cookies and take custom orders for all types of sweets. I also enjoy creating. I love to draw, take photos, sew, and create art!
I am looking forward to a fantastic year of making art and interacting with each of you!
