What is it?
MATHCOUNTS is a national program designed to increase enthusiasm and enhance achievement in middle school mathematics. In MATHCOUNTS students and coaches work together throughout the school year to prepare for competitions.
What happens at the meetings?
Team members and coaches will work together to solve various problems in order to prepare for the competition. We will also eat and have fun!
I encourage students to visit artofproblemsolving.com to improve problem solving skills. We will be using Alcumus on Art of Problem Solving at many meetings. This will require students to create a log-in for the site. Please let me know if you have any questions or you do not want your child using this site.
Who can join?
Any sixth, seventh, or eighth grader that loves math can join. You do not have to be in advanced math. All students are welcome to come to the meetings and work to improve math skills. Four students will be chosen for the team, and six students will be chosen to compete as individuals at a later date
