About Me

My name is Alissa Gambrel and I am thrilled to be teaching first grade again at West Clay this year. This is my seventh year of teaching at West Clay and fourth year teaching first grade. I also taught fourth grade for 3 years.

I was born and raised in Carmel, attending Forest Dale Elementary, Clay Middle School, and Carmel High School. I graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Elementary Education. In my free time I like to take my little dog, Toby, on walks, work in my flower garden, spend time with friends, read, and do all kinds of puzzles (crossword, Sudoku, jigsaw).  

I also love to travel, visiting my mom in Florida, my brother in California, my sister in Michigan, and my brother in Alabama. I spend time with my brother and dad, too, who live here in town. I look forward to having another great year in first grade!
