Traveling is one of my favorite things to do, and I enjoy exploring unusual and unlikely places. For example, a year ago, I went to Tajikistan and drove through "The Tunnel of Death" in order to go from the southern to northern parts of Tajikistan. This summer, I was able to explore another beautiful part of the world -Alaska! My brother and his wife showed me several highlights during my short ten day stay. Ask me about my favorite part of that trip! When I cannot travel, I enjoy dreaming of places to visit; one of the best ways I do that is through reading. Reading is an activity that I enjoy because of its ability to instantly transport me to any destination. In the summer I may frequently be found with my nose in a good mystery. I recently finished a mystery series that takes place in the 1100s by Alyss Claire. I also relax when playing piano, biking, walking, and spending time with family and friends.
My family is a great joy and support to me. My husband Scott and I have two high school aged boys, Eric and Ian. We also have two additional members important to our family: standard poodle Ivy and Butler, an orange cat. All of us enjoy time outdoors! My boys are avid swimmers and are enthusiastic Flow Riders at the Monon Center; they both also spend a lot of time lifting weights. During the school year Eric wrestles, and Ian plays percussion with one of the CHS bands.
I have been on staff at Carmel Clay Schools since 1995. Since that time, I have taught several different subjects such as: German, English As New Language, Reading, and Language Arts. Although I have had the opportunity to teach both high school and middle school students, I find my favorite place to be is working with the students at Carmel Middle School. I am excited about teaching Sixth grade Language Arts this year and getting to work with YOU!
