In this packet you will find topics, instructions, questions to help guide your research and project rubrics. Please copy and paste this document into a google doc for you and your partner to collaborate through exploration of the topic you chose. Presentations will be on Wednesday, April 16 & Thursday, April 17th.

Use this power point to create a personal fitness goal

Choose 3 activities in a row to complete by Monday, March 3rd. You will receive a new tic tac toe board once the first board is turned in that will be due by Monday, March 10th. We will test your short term fitness goal at this time.

Create a MyPlate poster looking at the daily food you eat to see that you get the recommended daily value of each food group. This project is due Monday, March 3rd.

Read a children's book and answer the following questions displaying the different parts of health throughout the book.

The students input fitnessgram scores and received a printed report containing areas of improvement and areas in the healthy fitness zone. You can view your child's results using the directions attached. Please feel free to email me with any questions.

Class Description

Physical Activity - lots of fun through sports, activities and movement!

Personal Fitness Plans - each student will learn health and fitness components and create personal fitness plans throughout the year.

Team Building - every student in the class is considered part of the team.  We will learn how to encourage, work with and build up those teammates around us.

Sportsmanship - Choose Your Attitude Each Day!

Health - We will be in the health classroom 2 weeks 1st quarter, 3 weeks 2nd and 3rd quarter and 2 weeks 4th quarter.  This will be a part of your child's wellness grade.  Please refer to the monthly calendar and weekly assignments for specific dates and assignments.

Heart Rate Monitors - every Tuesday your child will learn about frequency, intensity, time and type of exercise through the use of a polar watch.  They will understand target heart rate zone among other terms, which will give them better knowledge and understanding as they create personal fitness plans.  This will be worth 10 points each week.
