It has become more difficult for students to be absent from school. I remember being absent from school with chicken pox and receiving a stack of worksheets and list of textbooks to complete. Educational programs have changed where children are not completing worksheets and following textbooks in numerical order. Our program allows children learn from conversations with each other to develop stronger vocabulary and critical thinking skills. It is difficult to recreate the activities in the classroom. If your child is ill for one or two days, we will make up the work upon their return. If your child is ill for an extended time, I will send home work throughout the time of the absences.
If you are planning a vacation or extending a school break, I will not send school work home in advance. They will make up the work when they return.
