My name is Cody Kurtz, and this is my sixth year teaching at Cherry Tree. I taught my first year in Kindergarten, 3 years in 2nd grade, and this is my second year back on the Kindergarten team.
I grew up on a farm in a Millersburg, Indiana. I have a beautiful wife named Natalie and a wonderful daughter named Hadley. My wife is a fourth year at IU Medical School currently doing her final rotations, my Dad is a mail carrier and retired farmer, my Mom is a realtor with Berkshire-Hathaway HomeServices, and my brother is an engineer for Cummins.
I receieved an academic honors diploma from Fairfield High School in Goshen and a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education with a reading endorsment from Purdue University in West Lafayette.
Ever since I was in 4th grade and had my first male elementary teacher, I have wanted to be an educator. I believe that every child deserves a high-quality and differentiated education. I have had many positive experiences in my life, and I am fortunate to have the opportunity to give back some of what I have received.
In my spare time, I like to play video games, watch tv and movies, listen to all types of music, work around the house, and spend quality time with my wife and daughter.
