The 2016-2017 year will be my 15th year of teaching. I received my elementary education degree at Indiana University in Bloomington. My first 4 years of teaching were in Lilburn, Georgia (a suburb on the northeast side of Atlanta). There, I taught both regular 4th grade and 4th grade gifted classes. In 2006, my husband and I moved back to Indiana, and for the past 10 years, College Wood Elementary has been my "home." In my time there, I taught 5th grade, 4th grade, 3rd grade, 2nd grade, and 2/3 Challenge. Having taught many different grade levels, I was ready to move to the level I've always felt was a perfect fit for me, middle school. I am very excited about the chance to get 6th graders excited about the wonders of science! I'm looking forward to a great year!
In my free time, I like to spend time with my family including my husband, Ritch, to whom I've been married for 11 wonderful years; our twin 5 year old daughters, Sophia and Ella, who keep us really busy; and our new puppy, Yogi. I also enjoy reading and exercising.
