Due to the short nature of the course, daily attendance is necessary. Indiana requires each student receive 72 hours of instruction during summer school. During summer school there are no “excused” or “unexcused” absences. Rather all absences are the same and do not require a phone call to school or a doctor’s note. Students should remember, however, that each day equals 4 hours. Thus, students may miss only one day, after which if they miss any class time, they will be removed from summer school with a WF. No exceptions! Do not use up your absences early. Toward the end of summer school, you may need one of these for a real emergency.
