This is my first year at Carmel Middle School. For the past 16 years, I have enjoyed teaching and working with the children of Forest Dale Elementary. Before coming to Carmel, I worked for the Indiana Department of Education, as well as taught in Franklin Township and in Bloomington, IN. At some point in my career, I have taught every grade level (1st - 5th), and I am excited to have the opportunity to teach 6th grade.
I have been married to a terrific husband, Bryan, for ten years. My two children are the sunshine (Caleb, 10) and the joy (Katie, 7) of my life. They most definitely keep us busy with their sports and activities. Spend any time in my class, and you are sure to hear a story or two about one or both of them.
I grew up in Clarksville, Indiana (down on the Ohio River) and graduated from Indiana University (Go HOOSIERS!) and Butler University (GO DAWGS!). If I have some free time, I love to read or work on "crafty" things around the house. I truly love all sports, but the older I get, the more I have become a spectator rather than a participant!
I am really excited for this new adventure in working with your children. I am looking forward to a fun and productive year with "a whole lot of learning going on." I wholeheartedly believe that an open line of communication is fundamental to making this year a wonderful year of learning. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, or comments.
