I grew up the youngest of a large family on the north side of Indianapolis. I spent my teenage years taking care of my nieces and nephews. I also worked at a daycare and was a nanny for a summer. It was during that time that I realized I loved working with children and would enjoy a child-related career. This experience led me to Indiana University where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.
I began my teaching career in 1990 right here at Cherry Tree Elementary. I have taught first grade, third grade, third grade gifted, fourth grade, and fifth grade. I have enjoyed teaching all of the grades, but I like the fifth grade curriculum the best!
I have three wonderful children. Jordan is twenty, Corrine is nineteen, and Tyler is sixteen. In my free time, I enjoy reading, refinishing furniture, and redecorating.
