Welcome to sixth grade humanities! I am so excited for this new adventure that we will begin together. This is my 17th year teaching overall and my 11th year teaching at Creekside Middle School. I was born in New York and lived sixteen years on Long Island. When I was a senior in high school, my parents and I moved to Southern California in which I graduate college from Cal Poly Pomona with a political science degree. I decided to get into teaching and finished my education at National University. My first teaching position was at Orange County Juvenile Hall for six years where I was a site liason as well as strengthening the middle school program. I meet my wonderful husband, Mike, while he was playing arena football for the Anaheim Piranhas. We got married and he became a coach for the Indiana Firebirds, that is when we decided to make Carmel, Indiana our new home! I began my teaching career in Indiana at Carmel Middle School and when Creekside opened, I became a Wildcat! I have two adorable daughters, Rylie, who is a fourth grader at Collegewood and Reese who is just turned four. They are the apple of my eye! I have so many funny stories to share with you about my family!
I am very passionate about teaching and would not have any other job in the world. I love being part of the Creekside family as well as reading books, spending time with my family and friends, Notre Dame football, music, and hanging out by the pool. Starbucks also has a very near and dear place in my heart!!
I welcome you to our Creekside family, being a Wildcat and Team Piranhas!
