Though I have been at Smoky Row in some capacity since it opened in 1992, this is my 22th year teaching at Smoky Row and my 17th year teaching the a Challenge Class. Before moving to Carmel in 1992, my family and I lived in Ohio where I had taught elementary school for 5 years before staying home with my two sons. I earned my teaching degree from Miami University (Ohio) and my G/T certification from Purdue.
I enjoy a variety of interests outside of school. My husband Mark and I enjoy flying around in our Beech Bonanza airplane. We have traveled throughout the Midwest and to Florida, the Southwest, and the Bahamas. We especially enjoy spending time in northern Michigan. I also enjoy walking my dog Vargas, hiking, birdwatching, sewing, reading, and gardening. This summer we hiked in and toured around parts of Alaska.
My sons Ross and Eric started at Smoky Row when it opened in 1992. They both graduated from Carmel High School and Indiana University. Ross graduated from the IU Michael Maurer Law School and is a lawyer in Los Angeles. Eric received a graduate degree in Information Systems at the IU Kelly School of Business and is an IT director in Seattle, WA.
