Hi! My name is Jenny Gossett. I am starting my 23rd year teaching in Carmel Clay Schools...all of which have been at College Wood Elementary! I have worked in the Carmel Clay School Corporation for 24 years. During that time, I have taught kindergarten for two years, third grade for four years (in a 2/3 "looping situation"), and the rest have been in second grade-my favorite! I graduated from Carmel High School in 1989. I completed my undergraduate study and graduated in 1992 from Ball State University. I then completed my Masters of Education program through Indiana Weslyan University and graduated in 2003.
I have been married for ten years and live in Westfield. I have two step-sons, Caleb who is 18 and Jonathan who is 14. They live in Illinois with their mom and step-dad. Caleb completed his basic training with the Army, between his junior and senior year, last summer at Ft. Jackson in South Carolina. He also completed his AIT this summer at Ft. Lee in Virginia. He will be going active this fall. We travel over there quite a bit for various activities and have an active life with them here, as well. My husband and I keep very busy at home with our two dogs and two cats. Chief is our BIG, yellow, English Lab. He's a big gentle giant. We've had him since he was a puppy. We also rescued a black American Lab last fall, who we renamed "Dave" for our love of Dave Matthews Band! Then we also have our two adorable cats: Chewy and Stella. They are all a lot of fun too! It seems like a zoo at times at our house, but we manage!
I absolutely LOVE my job! Teaching is full of new adventures each and every day! It's going to be a fabulous year in second grade!
