About Me

My name is Jamie Marciano and I’d like to welcome you to 2/3 High Ablility. This is my fourth year as part of the Woodbrook team and I am excited for this new opportunity. Prior to taking this position at Woodbrook Elementary, I taught in an Indianapolis area private school for ten years. Looking for a change, I decided I wanted the ability to learn and grow as an educator in a public school.  I am looking forward to taking on the challenges ahead of me.

Let me tell you a little about myself. I was born and raised in South Bend Indiana.  I moved to Bloomington Indiana and attended college at Indiana University where I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education.  From there, I then moved to Indianapolis and I have been happily married for seven years to my husband, Luis.  We have one son, Sammy.  He is a textbook two and a half year old, and he keeps us busy!  In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with family, reading books, and watching movies.

My summer was very busy.  We spent a lot of the summer unpacking and settling into our new home in Carmel. We also spent a lot of our weekends in South Haven, Michigan. We enjoyed sun, fun, and blueberries!

This year, I am most looking forward to working with your child and helping them grow as a student and as a person.  From me, you can expect that every Friday I will send home a weekly newsletter via email.  This will include our target skills, math objectives and books on our reading list as well as celebrations and important events.  Be sure to keep an eye out for it!  You can follow our day via Twitter.  You can find me @MarcianoWBE.  Thanks to a CEF grant, I was able to purchase an Ipad for student and classroom use.  I know it will provide us with some unique learning opportunities.

Lastly, please know that I am always available to address your questions or concerns.  Working as a team, we can make sure your child will have a successful school year.  Feel free to email or call me anytime.
