Welcome! My name is Mrs. Williams, and I teach fifth grade at Carmel Elementary School. I have taught at CE for 18 years in the 4/5 Challenge and/or fifth grade. I began my teaching career in Carmel Clay Schools thirty years ago as a student teacher at CE while completing my degree from Indiana University. My classroom experience includes teaching all elementary grade levels in multiple schools; Forest Dale, Woodbrook, and Cherry Tree, as well as working with Carmel High School students. I have continued my education with master degree courses at both I.U.P.U.I. and Purdue University. I have also taken fantastic continuing education classes through Indiana Weslyn. I am a life-long learner.
My goal is to help students master grade-level standards and achieve their academic potential while learning in a cooperative and caring classroom. I use Carmel Clay Schools adopted curriculum and many creative activities to enhance student learning. Students work independently, in small groups, and share in whole group activities using multiple learning styles. My goal is to help students become life-long, self-directed learners and to prepare them for a smooth transition to middle school.
