This is my thirty-fourth year of teaching and my eighth year teaching 5th grade. I have also taught 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, and Gifted and Talented. In 2000, I helped to open a brand new Towne Meadow Elementary School. Prior to 2000, I taught at Orchard Park Elementary and in Illinois.
I graduated from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois, with both Bachelor of Education and Master of Education degrees. In addition, I have numerous post graduate hours. While at EIU, I was a cheerleader and member of Delta Zeta sorority.
My husband, Mike, and I have two children, Meridith and Mitchell. Meridith graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Musical Theatre Performance and is living the dream in New York City. She will soon begin a graduate degree at New York University. Mitch recently finished his education at Carmel High School, and we are busy trying to transition him to the next phase of his life. We also have a Boston Terrier named Roxie. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, attending the theatre, doing crossword puzzles, and attending sporting events.
