About Mrs. Jacobs

Hi!  Welcome to fourth grade!  This is such a fun and exciting year!  We are going to have so much fun together this year, I can't wait to work with each and everyone of you!--Mrs. Lacey Jacobs

This Fall will start my 18th year of teaching at Smoky Row Elementary.  I started in 1998 as an Instructional Assistant where I continued until April of 1999.  I was fortuntate enough to take over a maternity leave in 2nd grade that year and continued teaching second grade the following school year.  In 2000 I moved to third grade where I stayed for the next 9 years!  In the Fall of 2009 I moved to fourth grade and will start my 7th year teaching 4th grade this August!!  It's hard to believe this school year will mark my 18th year in the classroom!!  Time sure flies when you love what you do!!

I graduated from Purdue University in December of 1997 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education as well as a Kindergarten Endorsement.  I received my Master's degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in April of 2004.  I was born and raised in Frankfort, Indiana. Frankfort is about 30 miles northwest of Carmel, so I do make a short commute each day to Smoky Row!!  I live in Frankfort with my husband, David, 11 year old daughther, Ella and my 7 year old son, Kye.

Ella is a fifth grader this year at Clinton Prairie Elementary in rural Frankfort.  She is a very active little girl and keeps our social schedule very booked.  She is involved in many activities including dance, tumbling, gymnastics and cheerleading.  She loves school, reading, spending time with her friends, and irritating her little brother every chance she gets!!!  Kye is a 2nd grader this year!  I hope Clinton Prairie can keep up with him as he is one very rowdy little boy.  He loves sports!  He plays baseball, basketball and football.  He too loves spending time with his big sister and loves nothing more than making her scream when he gets a chance!!  They are great kiddos and I'm sure you will hear lots about Ella and Kye this school year as I love to share their funny stories with my students!!!  Trust me, there is never a dull moment in the Jacobs' house!!

We enjoy doing things as a family!  We are warm weather fans and spend 2 weeks at the beach every summer with all of our family.  We all love the water and can't get enough time at the pool or the ocean!!  My husband loves to golf and I spend my free time scrapbooking, reading, shopping and enjoying the sunshine whenever possible!!  We also love the Indianapolis Colts and look forward to Sunday football in our house!

I look forward to working with my students each and every day and enjoy watching them grow and learn. I look forward to working together to make this a great year! I take great pride in being a part of the Smoky Row Community and feel very blessed and fortunate to work with such great colleagues, students and parents!!  Smoky Row Rockets are the best!!!
