Meet Mrs. Selvio!

Welcome, students and parents! Thank you for visiting! I look forward to knowing you better throughout this school year.

My experience includes working with grades  1, 2, 3, and 4 in Lawrence Township Schools. For the past 14 years I have been associated with Carmel Clay Schools as a parent of three daughters during their school careers at Carmel Elementary, Carmel Middle, and CHS.  I have also served as a PTO mom, a substitute teacher, and most recently a 2nd grade teacher at Orchard Park Elementary. I am thrilled to be a part of this amazing school district and very excited to work at Smoky Row Elementary this year! ROCKETS RULE!!

During free time I enjoy reading, SHOPPING (not at the grocery), trying new recipes, spending time with family, friends/neighbors, and cooking with my girls!  Traveling to anyplace with palm trees is one of my favorite things to do in the summer--although my family prefers fresh mountain air.

Our family LOVES Notre Dame football, the Indianapolis COLTS, FEVER, and PACERS!  During the fall we attend most CHS Greyhound football and basketball games.  Go Hounds! Recently we've become Crimson Tide fans as our oldest daughter attends the University of Alabama.  ROLL TIDE!! We also enjoy Indy in the month of May with all of the Indy 500 festivities. Our weekly attendance at Northview Church helps keep our core values strong, stimulates family conversations/closeness, and is a reminder for each member of our family about what is really important in this world.  My husband frequents the website and I the to get our daily dose of parenting ideas.  With three teenage daughters...we need all the help we can get!!

I believe in a positive, structured classroom environment with consistent expectations. Every person will feel safe, cared about, and respected in the presence of the teacher and peers. Each student is expected to work hard, master grade level material, and exhibit his/her personal best in each aspect of our day. My goal is to ensure each child a successful and productive educational journey which fosters a strong foundation for individual growth. I wish to help every child recognize, develop, and maximize his/her individual learning potential academically, socially, and emotionally. I want students to be eager for school each day. I will be!
