A little bit about Mrs. Zent...
It's been a bit of a journey to end up where I am today! I grew up in a rural town that is two hours north of Carmel. I later moved on to attend Purdue University. While there, I earned an elementary education teaching degree. I also earned a kindergarten teaching endorsement and a minor in Reading instruction. Soon after graduating college, I married my husband, Cory. His profession of dentistry brought us to Hamilton County.
My dream of teaching soon came true when I was hired to teach kindergarten at College Wood Elementary! I have been incredibly blessed to teach kindergarteners since 2004, and I know this year will be just as great! It is an understatement to say that I love my job! It is such a joy to spend my days with children who are excited about life, curious and motivated to learn, and open-hearted about each other! I especially treasure the endless laughs and the "ah-ha" moments when something clicks in the children's minds!
Outside of school, I am as busy as I am at work! I cherish spending time with family. I have a seven year old son named Gavin, a five year old daughter named Olivia, a two year son old named Gibson, and a dog named Cali, who was our first "baby!" Our world is filled with love, hugs, toys, and messy hand prints! We enjoy spending time with our extended family, going on walks, playing around home, socializing with neighbors, and living and learning with our church life group! I also like to read, visit friends, work in the yard, and volunteer.
I am excited to begin another adventure this year with a new group of little ones! Kindergarten is such a big year, and I have no doubt we'll grow in many ways and make wonderful memories!
