I grew up near Dallas, Texas but Indiana has been my home for 32 years. I have been teaching at Mohawk Trails Elementary since 1994. I taught second and third grades until I moved to fourth grade in 2000. I absolutely love teaching fourth grade students. They are independent, curious learners who understand my wacky sense of humor.
I have been a Lead Teacher for Mohawk Trails for many years and I serve on the School Improvement Council. This year, I am the Technology Coordinator for Mohawk. I have my undergrad and master's degrees from Indiana University and completed my school administrator course work through Indiana Wesleyan University. I knew from a very early age that I was born to teach. I love the excitement in kids' eyes when they "get it." I call those light bulb moments. I also love that my job is so fun. I get to laugh and have fun with kids everyday!
I am the middle child of five kids. I have three brothers and one sister. I am the mom to four grown kids, including triplets! I have two grandsons and one granddaughter. You will hear lots of crazy stories about my family. I enjoy reading, relaxing on the beach in Florida, laughing hysterically, and just about anything chocolate. I love technology and learning new ways to use it to teach and learn.
