Prior to teaching the Functional Academics Program at Mohawk Trails, I was the teacher of the Life Skills class. I have also taught Life Skills classes at Cherry Tree Elementary, and at Tri-County Opportunity School in Noblesville, Indiana. I started my career working for New Castle School Corporation where I worked at New Castle State Hospital teaching children with moderate and severe cognitive disabilities. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Special Education at Long Island University-Post, New York, and my Master of Art in Education and Special Education degee from Ball State University. I am licensed in Elementary Education, and Special Education-mild, moderate, severe, and emotional disabilities. I reside in Indianapolis with my husband, Pat. I have a daughter, who is married and has 2 sons, ages 3 and 5. I also have a son, who resides in Chicago and is an Executive Chef at a wonderful restaurant! My favorite pastimes are babysitting my grandsons, visiting Chicago, and eating delicious food!!
