AP Chemistry Summer Assignment

Students taking AP Chemistry during the 2017-2018 school year have a summer review assignment (linked below) to complete by the first day of class. Try the "pdf version" if problems like #26 do not display correctly.

Note: #7f denominator should be 987.5 (NOT 3).

AP Chemistry students will need the following:

1) Scientific calculator.  This can be a basic scientific calculator or a graphing calculator.  There may be some tests where nonprogrammable calculators are required, but students may use either type for homework and for the actual AP exam.  Students are expected to bring a calculator to every AP Chemistry class.

2) Basic supplies.  These include paper for notes and homework, dark ink (blue or black) pens for lab notebooks, pencils and erasers.

Optional:  Composition notebook (sewn binding).  This can serve as your lab notebook.

Optional review materials:  Students who would like additional review to prepare for the AP exam may be interested in getting review books such as Princeton Review's Cracking the AP Chemistry Exam, Barron's AP Chemistry, AP Chemistry Crash Course, or 5 Steps to a Five AP Chemistry. The exam redesign began with the 2014 exam, so look for one of the more recent review books.
