Only 4th and 5th grade students are able to join Pup Running.
Pup Running is a not for profit organization that is committed to encouraging fitness and fun among 4th and 5th grade students through the sport of running. With fall cross country and spring track seasons, we strive to develop positive character qualities in children as they train for, and compete in, running events, qualities like: Good Health, Sportsmanship, Teamwork, Discipline, Perseverance, and Best Effort.
This mission is facilitated through the formation of school-based Pup Running Clubs for 4th and 5th grade students in the Carmel Clay School District.
The cost for your child to participate is $17 (with a school-specific t-shirt) or $10 (without a school-specific t-shirt). The season includes 3 meets; 9/13, 9/50 and 9/25. Each runner will have the opportunity to run a 2K race during the fall season and a 100 meter and 400 meter dash during the spring season at each meet.
Some may be wondering about the potential of cancelling a Pup Running meet due to weather conditions. If there is lightening, Pup Running must wait for a required period of 30 minutes (without Lightning) before the meet can begin.
Pracices will right after school on Mondays for 4 weeks, starting 8/27 and ending on 9/24.
