Reading Program Reminder Message
We have kicked off our reading program with an excellent start. I just want to put out a reminder on how to count up your minutes. I think there may be a bit of confusion on how to count your total minutes per month. The minutes you are allowed to count are only for each individual month. Example, in October you will count your minutes from Oct. 1-31. The prize distribution deadline date is just the final date to hand in your previous month’s minutes, you do NOT count the days up to that date because then that would be counting from Oct. 1 to Nov. 11 and that is NOT correct. You are ONLY allowed to count the days in October! If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at email@example.com. Thank you to everyone that has been voting (reading) and keep it up!
Reading Program Director
One minute of reading equals one vote! The only way to become president is to gain knowledge through reading! Each minute you read outside of school equals one vote. The more you read the more votes you will have. You can count the 20 minutes of mandatory at-home reading you have to do for school as votes, just read for another 5 minutes (or MORE). The requirement to become president is to participate in the election (reading program). The candidates are required to read 25 mins each day during the week and weekend (Saturday and Sundays) for a minimum total of 175 minutes a week. The Election will begin Sept. 14 and end April 29.
United States of Woodbrook - Mrs. Vahle's 2/3 Challenge Class 'Tidbitville' Wins September Reading Minutes
We are well on our way to finding our President of Woobrook! The winning class for September is Tidbitville - Mrs. Vahle’s 2/3 Challenge class. They named their class after Mrs. Vahle’s dog that she has shared many stories about in the class. The class motto is “We’re Small But Strong”.
Mrs. Vahle’s class had a winning total of more than 9,000 minutes (votes) read in the 17 days of September. Our September voting month was short as the program only started Sept. 14. Also, as a bonus the kids participating in the winning class will receive one more surprise gift for being the winning class! That gift will be given within the next two weeks. Way to go and congrats to everyone in the school who is voting! Remember, each vote counts! - Nicole Brink
